The health and safety of the Central Coast community is our top priority. In accordance with the Australian Dental Board and Australian Dental Association (ADA) direction, all Australian dentists are deferring routine dental treatment during this time. Established and trusted local dental group comprising of Avoca Beach Dental, Empire Bay Dental, Bonnells Bay Dental, Saratoga Dental and Warnervale Dental have combined to form Central Coast Dental Emergency Services.
Following recommendations from the authorities, the Central Coast dental leaders have increased their response to the need for emergency dental as a result of lockdown measures. They now offer a dedicated hotline which patients can contact at any time if they require emergency dental care and they will then be triaged appropriately to their closest dentist for treatment.
Dr Ned Restom, Founder and Principal Dentist of the group is passionate and highly committed “to doing all we can during this stressful time. We are here to support the community, so whether you’re an existing patient or new, if you need emergency care, we will do our best to help you”.
To enable effective management of the hotline service, the dedicated dentists request that patients SMS the hotline number to communicate. Practice Principal of Warnervale Dental, Dr David Bassal explains that “we want to offer a service that is accessible 24/7 to Central Coast patients needing emergency treatment and care. To enable us to triage quickly, we ask that patients text their name, postcode and dental issue. We will then respond as soon as we can and organise appropriate care” says Bassal.
During this time, infection control is of paramount importance. “We stringently follow and comply with the Australian Dental Association (ADA) and AHPRA approved standards of infection control and are also taking additional precautions. We have all completed specific COVID-19 Infection Control training and we have introduced further steps to ensure our team and our community’s health and safety at all times.”
